Château Angélus

APPELLATION : SAINT-EMILION

Château Angélus is the work of a passion written over eight generations by the de Boüard de Laforest family. Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, President and CEO of Angélus, represents the 8th generation of the family. Her relationship with Angélus is almost visceral in nature. She “lives” this land, drawing from it the courage and determination she needs. This land nourishes her both emotionally and spiritually, and she considers herself a part of the ecosystem it constitutes. She is guided by the founding values that have united her family with this estate since the very beginning: integrity, work, humility and a sense of duty.

GOOD TO KNOW

Angélus takes its name from three surrounding church steeples that rang the Angelus three times a day. Dropping the “l'” in 1989 was also a strategic move: in Saint-Émilion’s alphabetical classification, Angélus now appears first. The château also has a carillon whose sonic identity was composed by jazz pianist Yaron Herman.
