Château Coutet

APPELLATION : BARSAC

At Château Coutet, generations do not simply succeed one another: they cooperate, always two by two, ensuring and complementing each other. The vines of Château Coutet, in the tradition of the Sauternes and Barsac appellations, are planted with Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. The great story of Sauternes and Barsac continues with the Baly family, producing a rich, lively wine with aromas of white flowers, citrus, honey and vanilla from its earliest evolution.

GOOD TO KNOW

With 110 metres, Coutet’s barrel cellar is the longest in the entire appellation. It was originally the stables of Château d’Yquem, converted in the 19th century. Thomas Jefferson, visiting in 1787, named Coutet the finest wine of Barsac. The Cuvée Madame, produced exceptionally in tiny quantities, is one of Bordeaux’s absolute rarities.
