WHY WE LIKE IT
Café Lavinal stands out first as the village of Bages’ genuine meeting place. Its name honours Berthe Lavinal, Jean-Michel Cazes’ grandmother, while its 1930s brasserie décor combines red bench seating, a zinc bar, travel finds and family memories. That lived-in identity continues at the table through traditional market-led cooking based largely on regional produce. The wine programme adds real breadth, with more than 220 references spanning Bordeaux and other regions, while the Enoline system offers a selection of wines by the glass. It is distinctly Médoc in spirit: a place where wine belongs naturally to conversation, food and the everyday rhythm of local life.
