Amicis bears its Latin name well: it is above all a story of friendship. Alexandre Baumard, MOF, trained under Bocuse and Bacquié, former head chef of the double-starred Gabriel, opened this house in 2024 with his pastry chef friend Damien Amilien, winner of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Best Pastry Chef award in 2023. The listed baroque-fronted building holds two distinct worlds: a ground-floor bistrot; and an intimate upper room for a 7-course tasting menu served almost in an open kitchen. Michelin-starred within a year of opening, Amicis proves that excellence and accessibility are not mutually exclusive.
