APPELLATION : POMEROL
Owned by the Moulin and Cathiard families since 2014, Château Beauregard has been reborn to fulfil its original purpose: to produce a great Pomerol wine at an estate which was historically dedicated to welcoming its guests. Pomerol, Saint-Émilion’s neighbour, is home to just 800 hectares of vineyards, the smallest of Bordeaux’s prestigious appellations. Its outstanding terroir of clay-gravel soils allows Merlot, the king variety of the region, to achieve its full expression alongside Cabernet Franc. Beauregard, with 17.5 hectares, is one of the largest estates in the appellation.
GOOD TO KNOW
Beauregard’s bicentennial manor house inspired American socialite Florence Guggenheim to commission an exact replica at Port Washington, Long Island, named “Mille-Fleurs”. The vineyard has been farmed organically since the new families took ownership in 2014.
