APPELLATION : SAUTERNES
Château Sigalas Rabaud, Premier Cru Classé 1855, belongs to the Sauternes appellation. It is the result of hard and precise work on a 14-hectare vineyard in sustainable viticulture known as “the jewel of Sigalas.” A demanding, manual berry-by-berry selection of pure botrytis cinerea, from September through November, gives the immense complexity of this first growth. Created in the 19th century by the Sigalas family, this great wine never ceases to amaze with its aromatic richness, its beautiful silky robe and its length on the palate.
GOOD TO KNOW
Sigalas Rabaud is the smallest of Sauternes’ Premier Crus Classés (14 ha), and one of the rare estates offering five guest rooms in its 17th-century chartreuse, alongside a Tèrra Aventura hiking trail. The 6th family generation, Laure de Lambert Compeyrot, has led the estate since 2006 and launched a range of dry white wines to complement the great sweet wine.
