APPELLATION : PESSAC-LEOGNAN
Owned by the Bernard family since 1983, the magnificent Domaine de Chevalier stands at the pinnacle of Bordeaux’s great Classified Growths. Like a secret garden, this emblematic Pessac-Léognan estate is nestled within a surrounding forest that provides a unique natural setting and precious microclimate. The estate has firmly committed to a demanding environmental approach, adopting organic and biodynamic farming practices. This philosophy, centred on deep respect for terroir and ecosystem, translates into meticulous attention at every stage of viticulture. It is in the intrinsic quality of the fruit that the excellence and distinction of the Domaine’s wines primarily reside.
GOOD TO KNOW
Domaine de Chevalier is the only estate in the appellation to produce two separately recognised Grand Cru Classé wines, one red and one white, since the 1953 Graves classification. Its white wine is universally acclaimed as one of the world’s greatest dry whites, with an ageing potential often exceeding 30 years.
